Yesterday I was very stiff and sore from the spill I took on my bike on Thursday. I feel on my side and my ribs ache. Still I got up early and staggered in to work at 8:45 a.m. fortified by a couple of Advil only to discover that I’d copied down the schedule wrong and my shift wasn’t until 4:00 p.m. On the plus side this gave me time to get groceries which I’d needed to do and I managed to take a nap before my actual shift. However it also meant that I had to do closing duties, many of which take a good deal of physical effort. Luckily my fellow closing baggers were very understanding and picked up the heavier jobs like collecting carts and mopping. Even so it was pretty rough getting through the shift but since I’m all out of sick time I had no choice. Luckily I’m scheduled to be a cashier instead of a bagger tonight and I’m off tomorrow. I’ll be fine by my next bagging shift on Monday.
At the market, we’re encouraged to dress up for Halloween and I’d sort of planned out a costume; I was going to go as Tonks from the Harry Potter series. However I got my schedule yesterday and I’m not working on Halloween. I’m actually a little bit disappointed. I don’t really have any other plans for Halloween so I probably won’t be wearing the costume after all. Such a shame, I really do look my best in a pink wig.
